They mean well, but they struggle to retain teachers and staff. Anyone that is GOOD, takes off for a better job. The remaining teachers usually are new, still trying to figure out how to best relate to kids. They don’t have any guidance counselors and that means anyone struggling or has problems with a teacher or class, has no one to really turn to; except maybe the assistant principal who wears MANY hats and is the disciplinarian. The coaches need to work for the school now, so we arent necessarily talking about those that have a good background of the sport, it’s fundamentals, or how to necessarily build a solid TEAM. The way it was promoted, I thought this would be a great place to develop young athletes. Your better off at CCSD, simply because they will have a larger pool to recruit from, and can more easily get former pro, college, or even experienced competitive High School athletes and coaches to join their staff. Again, the effort is there, but I think their budget is lacking or someone at the top of this “Legacy Organization” is limiting their ability to think outside the box and truly meet the needs of the students. They have some office staff and support staff that really care and try their best to fill those gaps, but in reality it’s just not enough in this day and time. The school will be great for some kids, but probably not for the majority. I wish them the best, but I would definitely say this school needs more support from their Board and should really focus on creating policies to support the entire child. School is a place of learning and developing children. That means mentally, physically, educationally, socially, and in the safest, most healthiest environment possible! I don’t think this is just a legacy problem either, I feel like it’s just as much as a problem for many Nevada schools. Good Luck Legacy and good luck to all my fellow parents. The struggle is real….??
Its not safe to place to send kids at all. Kids can fight each other and nobody watching them. Or no one trying to prevent any incidents. The stuff is worst. If you have any concerns you dont have access to speak with your child’s teacher or the school principal.
The Teaching learning process is not transparent. As a parent, they dont even allow you to know what your kids learning. So you cant help your children even with their homework. There are so many problems out there I can mention.
For this school giving one star is a lot.
I was a student in kindergarten at this school and I had to leave all my friends in the middle of the year because I was getting hit and punched and a kid with a METAL lunchbox hit me in the head with it
