They don’t deserve one star.
Our daughter is getting bullied but the school have not been very supportive. They instead gaslight us and make us feel like we are the problem. I have major concerns over their safeguarding. They have shown many inconsistencies throughout the process. They failed to check their records and the school let a stranger on site and discussed personal information about a student without parental consent.
When raising our concerns with the headteacher our concerns were dismissed. Again the school did not take any responsibility and insisted to blame the parents. The school are very inconsistent when adhering to their safeguarding and school policies. Once we challenged them on this the schools communication became very passive aggressive.
However, these claims were also dismissed.
Their complaints procedure is a mere formality. I do not believe complaints are taken seriously. We understood the headteacher was always going to support their staff.
I would not recommend sending your child to this school.
Bad school bullying happens too much, head of year and pastoral manager makes out they sort it out yet my child comes crying home everyday because of a year 11 student picking on her. This has to stop and this will be reported. I don’t recommend sending your child here.
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. This school were willing to support my daughter to begin with but they soon turned and put her at fault fir everything little thing that happened including bullying. She was being threatened by another student snd was excluded for retaliating. I do fear for my daughter’s safety at this school. Then the senior teacher called me and laughed at me down the phone.
Hi, I’m an old student here. around 2002 to 2006. When I was attending that school I experienced the worst experience in my entire life. other stuff going on at home but that has nothing to do with this. I was Threatened by students and one time a support teacher attacked me because she thought I started a fight when I didn’t. I don’t understand the concept of like basically misdiagnosing me With Asperger’s when I didn’t have it by the way. I have ADHD and dyslexia which I really wish someone had done more digging. Instead of just going to my doctor with that diagnosis and then my doctor not even wanting to help me figure out if that was the real problem which he didn’t cuz he was a lazy doctor. I know that they’re going to delete this comment because that is one thing that they will do. But I am trying to leave an honest Review about my time at that school. But all I need to say is that it’s not a safe place to leave Your child. That being said, I really hope that they have changed from when I was There. Thank you for the teachers that did actually respect and did listen to me at times. But the rest were not willing to listen to me and did not understand that I was basically okay at reading. I just had a problem with writing. I’m leaving this review because I don’t want people to be sending their child to the school expecting the teachers to help them because they don’t even want to. like I said things may have changed but the time when I was there They just put the students that they didn’t want and didn’t want to deal with in a class with people that didn’t even know how to teach them. But like I said that was the early 2000s. I really hope they’ve changed. I really hope that they treat people with disabilities with a bit more respect than what they were doing in the early 2000s. I did not enjoy my time there and that’s just me , this is my review , my opinion. I hope other past students leave their comments here and probably had a better experience than I did. I’m probably just that one person that basically had the worst experience while everyone else at the best.
Excellent school, my son is currently in year 8 and has SEN and he is well looked after here and very happy. All his teachers know him well and cater to his needs and quirks. Any concerns or issues are addressed quickly, good level of discipline, had a couple of small incidents of bullying which were quickly and effectively dealt with.
Teachers are genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of pupils and are very flexible to the needs of SEN pupils. They even given up their own free time for the benefit and progressions of pupils
Cannot recommend highly enough. This school is really exceptional.
