My son currently goes here – the teaching staff is great don’t get me wrong but here and there I have found bruises on my son’s body, and they’ve allowed my son to get attacked by other students as well. Not only this, but the principal Katie O’Brien, could NOT have been the worst choice for Lincoln to have as their principal. She literally only comes in to get paid and do her job, there’s no indication that she cares about the students, or parents that have true concerns that go to her for assistance. No care for the community either. She pushes you off and tells you lies to get you off her back. She tried calling me ONLY ONE TIME after weeks of trying to get her attention, and I just didn’t really care anymore. I decided to do whatever I want to do now concerning my issues I’ve been having. She also had police, NOT HER, but police come to our cars to tell us about how we as parents can’t walk our kids to the door due to security reasons, so instead of O’Brien coming out to explain that to us, she needed police to come and talk to each of us. Other than that, my son really likes going to school and all, but this was my childhood school back in the day when it was an elementary school, but unfortunately the district did some things right, and others completely wrong.
If you have a child with special needs, a child with a IEP, do NOT send them here!!!! Please do not make the mistake I made! Get them some real help, get them outside therapy! They will only go for 2 1/2 hrs a day, so it is just the same amount of time. My son went from being at one of best schools in the state of IL for special education, to one of the WORST SCHOOLS EVER! After watching him progress, met all of his goals and see the change with my eyes at his old school. To him regressing, acquiring a whole bunch of new problems, I don’t even recognize my son anyone. The teachers here DONT CARE! More than half of the teachers and therapists on my son’s team were fat old ladies just waiting to retiring and could care less. Just my impression. I regret not taking him out, the months after school started and I noticed a difference. Just because your daughter has autism doesn’t mean you should be a special education teacher!! PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE
If you love your kids don’t sent your children to here. The teachers are NOT responsible for your child. My friends child just got stitches on his face, the teacher doesn’t know what happened… where was the teacher ?…..
