My son attended VPK at the Lincoln Marti (Community Agency) location by 24th ave and 9th st & I was not happy with my sons education there. Around that time I discovered that a few blocks from my house there was Lincoln Marti Charter School. I wanted to find out more and i liked it. My son needed the structure and the extra push. A child that I was told needed special education is in 3rd grade reading writing and meeting 3rd grade requirements.
A few things to take in mind. The school is a elementary, middle and high school. It is a CHARTER SCHOOL. Meaning it is public (free of charge) but it does have a private school education. There is a higher demand in education. Your child will receive homework. Reading/math packet and iready/reading plus. Dont be one of those parents complaining. It is demanding but it wont kill them. There isn’t really any extracurricular activities provided. The uniform needs to be purchased in their central location by 27th ave and 8st and can be a bit pricey. My son says hes not a big fan of the school lunch. PE is done in the limited space/cement area/basketball court. If you need to pick your child up early please call at least an hour a head of time to let them know at what time child needs to be in office because if you get there YOU WILL NEED TO WAIT. School transportation is a bit disorganized (have a plan b/private company/or someone else to pick child up). My son has had amazing teachers any issues they call or text me.
I didn’t have a good experience dropping off my daughter to this school because incident happened when another child scratch my daughter by her eyes and they told me that is not no big deal kids is going to be kids first of all it’s a big deal for me because I dropped my daughter off thought it was a safe space for her came back to pick her up and she was not the same another child almost pop her eyes and you telling me it’s not a big deal it’s a big deal to me so my experience was not too good as a concern parent
Well, I disagree with a lot of the people talking about how they hate the school, that’s it’s the worst blah blah, not true if I search up “Worst School in the World” then you’ll find some broke down barely even there school, at least this one gives food, education(unlike others), and they keep it running. If it were such a bad school then why is it still up and running? Exactly my point.
