Is belittling + humiliating a 6yo something you teach your staff? My daughter was told — after her group swim lesson + in front of her friends — that it was her fault she wasn’t moving up to the next class + wasn’t getting a ribbon. As she left the pool in tears, my husband was ambushed with the same news. At what point in time could you not have called, emailed, sent a letter or just approached him during class to tell him? At what point did it make sense that the classes my 6yo missed were, in fact, her fault? We as her parents decided she’d miss some classes for Christmas, a family vacation + time with her grandparents. We also tried calling three times to discuss this issue without one returned call. Unreal. I now have a child who couldn’t sleep for a week because of this. You can be sure I’ll be posting this review everywhere I can.
This is the best place around for kids swim lessons! We’ve brought our son here since he was 6mos (now 3 and already swimming in his own) and have transitioned up through several levels of class, enjoying each one. The instructors are all so patient, kind, and friendly, and make sure that everyone is both comfortable and safe in the pool.
The facility is always spotless and well maintained. There’s plenty of seating for adults waiting during lessons, and a huge locker room with showers, cubbies, lockers, and lots of baby changing pads.
The absence/make-up policy is super flexible, which we’ve fully appreciated since our LO seems to be sick every couple of weeks.
Classes/the lobby gets a little crowded in the after school hours, but that is really my only gripe! We love this place!
