I was bullied here immensely. I had horrific teachers as well. One of my teachers yelled at me in the middle of the class for not bringing a book cover to school to protect my book (I told my parents but they didn’t go out and get it so it wasn’t my fault anyways.) She forced students like me to use a paper bag over my book in front of everybody like I couldn’t afford a book cover or something! It’s a BOOK COVER, it’s not a big deal, and she yelled at me. BOTH my parents had to go to the school the next day and got in contact with the assistant principal, Samp, who was incredibly rude and judgmental of us. Keep in mind that I am a respectful student who never talks back and I try my hardest in class. Teachers usually said I was a “pleasure to have in class”. Yet, this teacher and this assistant principal were telling us that we had it all wrong and didn’t “obey the class rules”. Just making the biggest deal out of a book cover! My parents had no choice but to contact the actual principal, who was much nicer and confirmed that in fact did NOT need a book cover at all and no other student needed one either. Afterall, book covers should and are optional, right? The teacher gave me an S for citizenship in the class even though I never spoke out loud once to her and I never talked to my neighbors. I was quiet and did my work. An S. I guess I can never live up to her expectations.
Not to mention, I was also bullied a LOT in this school. The kids here seem to reflect their parents. There are a TON of parents who don’t like other kid’s parents here at this school. It seems as if wherever you walk, you are being judged, targeted, and made fun of behind your backs. You can NEVER feel safe in this school, and for goodness sakes if you TRY to do well in this school, other kids criticize you. It’s like, frowned upon by other kids if you do well! For example, in art class, I was committed into creating great art work, and I was proud of my work. But one kid made fun of it like it was the worst thing he ad ever seen. Listen, I know one kid doesn’t define a school, but he was not the only person who was rude to me! I’ve been shoved into my locker by multiple people, I’ve been hit and pressured to do drugs (I never did thankfully but I came close multiple times). The pressure is SO high here. And this is a MIDDLE school! The 6th graders are too immature to even be here, they should not be seeing the horrific things I have seen at this school. I have heard about deaths here, and major injuries and I jsut don’t feel safe! The school is so deceiving. “Warren Consolidated Schools… it must be good right?” Or, “Look how clean this building is!” I BEG you to reconsider this school. It looks nice and clean… but if you EVER have the experience of going here, you will be extremely disappointed and horrified! I only wanted to get my education at this school and learn music… I played in band and enjoyed it so much. Besides band, which was the only reason why I had wanted to even go to school at all- the school was honestly hell in it’s deepest form. The teachers had VERY little respect over their kids (except for a few nice teachers which made life bearable). I almost committed suicide because the pressure was so strong at this school to fit in… even though there was nothing but greed and hatred to fit into.
I toughed it out though, and in the end, I made it. I’m now in 11th grade and I attend Arts Academy In The Woods. Unlike Carter, this school accepts everybody… and I mean EVERYBODY. Teachers and students can feel at home, with their dyed hair and any clothing they want. Ripped jeans? So what. Tank tops? So what. Doesn’t matter your sexuality or gender, even as a teacher. This school you can tell LOVES it’s students. It’s a shame this is a high school and not a middle school though. They need a middle school that is loving and caring like Arts Academy. Did I mention there are no bullies/fights here either? I made at LEAST 30 friends!
Don’t go to Carter. Seriously. Unless you have the secret of “fitting in”…
I’m going to keep this short and simple, (something Carter Staff admire). This is my first year here at C.M.S (8th grade). The first day coming here I was approached by a unpleasant look given by the principal, Mrs. Hendry. As first objective I obviously just thought maybe she just didn’t recognize me, or nothing major. Let’s speed the time. About 6 or 7 weeks in school I was experienced with bullying. I did bring it to the counselors, (wasn’t my main intention considering they didn’t do anything but just talk to the person you’re including). Of course no action was taken when I still am experiencing being called a hoe, etc. The kids who intend her are incredibly outrageous-acting. Just recently this girl went up to my locker and punched me in my jaw so I repeatedly swung, and I got suspended for 10 days along with a 165$ ticket to the warren police even though it was self defense. And the funniest thing about that situation is that the principal took the other girls side almost the whole time even when my mother came to the school to talk. I can’t stand it here, also the teachers aren’t very, well… how do I say this- “educated” because the way they teach in not only my eyes, are incredibly unnecessary and not the right way. I don’t have a very good name for this school as my friends get bullied as well, but maybe you will have a good experience here. (I doubt it). Carter’s students made me look at myself differently considering I am being called a thot, which is stupid. Benjamin Jakubowski and Kenny Long are definitely the kids you don’t want to hang around. They’re super rude tbh. Kys
This school is way too strict, the dress code is absurd and then it feels like everyday they try and ban something new, most of the faculty are very rude. The dress code is completely stupid I always feel so uncomfortable not wearing what I want to wear, half of the time the students are too stressed to go to school cause they might just get sent home for what they’re wearing, apparently what we’re wearing is more important than our education.

There is a very low percent of teachers that are extremely nice when the rest of the teachers are extremely mean and rude. One of the teachers always mocked one of my friends in class. One teacher has her students constantly correct her on her correction sheet because she’s wrong.

Also wearing no hoods is stupid, it isn’t a stupid gang sign whatever you people think.

I would never recommend this school for your child.
