LAE is an amazing school which has helped me to grow and nurture my independence and academic ability. The teachers are very approachable, passionate about their subjects and are always willing to work with you whenever you are struggling. It is evident that LAE always wants the best for its students, because there are so many opportunities for us to explore further interests, whether that be via work experience or lectures. I would highly recommend attending this school.
Utterly horrified and disgusted at the allegations from many Muslim students I have encountered at this school.Every student has a horrific story. The way the senior leadership team have handled the issue is disgraceful. Schools are responsible for the safeguarding of students and the school has to deal with the accusations appropriately with Newham.
Though the teaching may be of a high standard the environment is clearly hostile and they do NOT follow their values of kindness and respect
I was considering this school for my child but was shocked to hear the students’ voices. Their time at school and what they experienced seemed very rough and appalling. I believe students, our future, should not go through such an experience, targeting their faith, race, culture and personal attributes.
Local authorities and regulatory bodies should not ignore these comments and to be taken seriously.
Islamophobic school. If you’re Muslim, you’re better off at Brampton or NCS. LAE is not worth sacrificing your deen. The teachers don’t know how to educate either, classic favouritism system which leads C grade students to get A predicted grades, and B grade students to get a B predicted given teacher’s favouritism practice. Many of my mates left after year 12 and they’ve done well for themselves. Have some standard guys. LAE is not it. The good results from this school aren’t because of the teaching (teachers do not require teaching qualifications to teach here). It is because they admit us smart individuals who have gotten straight A* to A grades across all GCSEs. This school has been admitting less and less Muslims as a result of us fighting for a prayer space anyways so. The governors, SLT including the Headteacher disgust me truly. Shame on you guys. You’re meant to be educators.
Crazy how this school is still allowed to run. They are openly Islamophobic and don’t comply with equality and diversity regulations, yet no action has been taken against them. They are a threat to the peace and unity of Newham. They don’t contribute anything to the locality either, as instead of cultivating talent and potential they expect you to do all the work and look for those who are already meeting their potential. They’re just using already achieving students to boost their average and look good, they take but don’t give anything back. What’s the point?
