If you plan on being in the BEACH academy and you are a minority, AVOID Mrs. Janet Lipson and Mrs. Gayle Kwelberg. These women systematically and purposely try to fail you or give you a harder time based on what you look like, sadly. I was able prevail but as a student, I first hand dealt with the racism in this school’s education system. Parents listens to your child when they tell you of indifferent feelings from their teachers. Teachers are human too and unfortunately these women need moral listening!
Home of Scholars and Champions!

I graduated in 1996, so maybe things have changed, but I don’t think very much. Everybody from Poly is proud of their own individual accomplishments and the many many MANY that the school receives every year. Music, sports, academics, socially… Poly dominates. Without looking up any statistics, I’m gonna go on a limb and say that Poly has produced the most number of successful people than any other high school in Long Beach.

Go Poly!!!
