For a Portland school, Lyman Moore is pretty good. There are so many families in Portland that some schools struggle to accommodate all their students, but Lyman does decently. They seem to take bullying seriously too. The social worker, Mrs. Hubbly, is fantastic!

The only reason why I’m giving 3 stars is because I personally wasn’t fond of two things:

1.) I didn’t care how the coaches for the tennis team rewarded the “winners” and the kids that didn’t win had to run extra laps, bring equipment inside, etc. One time, kids that won got candy and the kids who didn’t win didn’t get any candy. I think it’s important that all kids get rewarded for their hard work and effort, no matter if they win or don’t win. The more you build their confidence, the better results you get – simple psychology.

2.) I didn’t care how the staff treated my son’s last day of school (we moved to a different school district). The one gentleman that worked rather closely with my son didn’t even see my son on his last day, let alone say goodbye. It was a bummer to see him come home feeling a bit sad, where my daughter came home (from a different school) with cards and gifts from a party that they threw her. More acknowledgement would have been really appreciated.

I went to school here in the early 1990’s. It’s a great place to learn stuff. There you have it!!! Peace!!!
two of my daughters really like this school. that’s good enough for me.
