This school gave my daughter PTSD. She had horrible experiences and I should’ve known better to vet the TEACHERS before putting my daughter in this childcare facility.

This was my daughter’s first experience with school. We happily enrolled her and was excited for her first day. After a week or so, my daughter came home with terrible mood swings and behaviors I never seen her do before. Every single day I would ask the teachers, how is she doing today. The teacher would say “She did okay. She ate some, she wanted to lay in my arms for nap.” She asked if my child did that at home I said yes. This was the nature of most communications from the teacher. TWO times she told me my daughter had trouble transitioning, but it was made to seem like ALL children go through that experience when they have to stop doing something they really love!

All of a sudden, and yes, I mean all of a sudden, I get a call out of no where asking me to pick up my child. She cannot stay a full day. I asked why haven’t I received a call prior or a chat from the teacher prior to this day? She said we can do one now but it’s not going to change anything. I said yes, I do want a parent teacher conference because I wanted clarification on why I’m just now hearing how “bad” my 2 year old child was!

After this meeting of two adults telling me how horrible she is… I asked the staff one question that she NEVER answered. “WHAT POSITIVE BEHAVIORS DOES MY CHILD DO THROUGHOUT THE DAY?” The teacher could not name one SINGLE thing my daughter did. She sat on the edge of her seat, leaned forward, and stared in my eyes with a glare and said “Your child can’t do anything right.” and slammed her binder shut and that was the end of the meeting. I can’t remember but she’s the only older teacher with black hair and glasses. I couldn’t believe someone would say that, I was so shocked I was speechless. That could not possibly be true. Even if you don’t like a child they still do positive things throughout the day!

Needless to say my child will never ever be back at a school who I heard staff asking the children when they messed up on the song “What the hell!?” That was Ms Courtney.

All in all parents really should make a stand to require teachers to get more education. It’s not okay to pass 3 courses of child development and then take that lack of knowledge out on children who’s minds are so sensitive and their entire world can change based on their experiences in childhood. It’s imperative we start caring about who is around our children and what they say! It absolutely matters! It determines their future! I wish more parents cared.

THIS SCHOOL IS NOT INCLUSIVE. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE WITHOUT AN AIDE. (If that applies to your situation).

We absolutely LOVE magnolia Academy! Our 2 year old is so excited to go to school every morning and absolutely loves his teachers. They have wonderful staff who loves and cares for our child as if they are their own. Prior to starting preschool our child had never been cared for by anyone other than his parents & grandma so there were a few tears shed at drop off for a few days. Miss Danielle and Miss Arielle made the transition so easy and he felt comfortable with them and has loved preschool ever since! I have recommended Magnolia Academy to many friends who also send their children there and love it!
I absolutely love this school, my daughter had separation anxiety and they were kind and understanding of that. They would take the time to send me pictures to let me know that she was doing okay through out her day. She absolutely adored her teachers there. She is in the third grade now and continues to ask to go and visit her old school. The staff is very kind when entering through the door. They helped with getting my child prepared for kindergarten and worked on her social and emotional skills. They are a curriculum based preschool as well.
