Magnolia Science Academy-2 isn’t a perfect school, no school is. Although, MSA-2 is a great school. I’ve been a student at MSA-2 for the past 5 years, and just recently graduated this year. Over my 5 years at this school, I have come to honestly love it and already miss being a student here. MSA-2 has grown a considerable amount from when I first started in a great way.

I will start off by saying the English department is phenomenal at MSA-2. Mr. Tuazon, Ms. McNiel, Mr. Brown, and Ms. Eddenfield (Note: I’ve never had Ms. Eddenfield as a teacher but I have heard from my friends that she is an awesome teacher) are all teachers who teach with passion and bring out the absolute best in their students. The math department is also very strong, Mrs. Dikyurt, Mr. Nguyen, Mr. Erzoz, and Mr. Tucker (Note: I haven’t had Mr. Tucker as a math teacher but judging what other students and teacher have said Mr. Tucker is great math teacher) always make sure to help students every step of the way if they don’t understand something. The science department has been a little rocky in the past but recently it has been begun shaping up to be engaging, and interesting. Mrs. Sahin in particular keeps her class interesting, engaging, fun, and informative. The history department is also great. Mr. Campagno, Mr. Lightfoot, Mrs. Tkatch, and Mr. Andrade make learning our past interesting and fun. The art department is ran only by one teacher, Mr. Philipson. I should mention that before I took Mr. Philipson’s AP Studio Art class, I seriously doubted my artistic ability, but Mr. Philipson taught me and the class many techniques to improve our art and always offered bits of help to incorporate into our pieces. He is a teacher who values each person’s art and imagination and helps his students to bring that to life. As long as you put in the effort to learn, every single teacher at Magnolia will help you every step of the way.

Recently, our school’s robotic team has been going rock solid. The students in the robotics team are passionate and so is the teacher Mr. Bidak. I have never been in the robotics team, but lately they have been absolute killing in the competitions. For 3 years, I have been in this school’s Academic Decathlon, within those 3 years I had the best time I have ever had at Magnolia. The competition is both fun and competitive. The most important part is that Academic Decathlon provides amazing learning opportunities such as public speaking, essay writing, and preparing speeches. The head coach of Academic Decathlon is Mr. Tuazon who always encourages new recruits and guides them through each part of the competition.

This year, the school implemented a house system. It’s kind of like Harry Potter with its houses like Gryfindor, Hufflepuff, etc. This system encourages students to follow the school rules and keep up good grades in order to earn points for the house. It manages to keep the students interested, and motivates them to be excellent students.

This school also has an Anti-Bullying Prevention team which is spearheaded by Adrian Gonzalez, a current student at MSA-2. Adrian is extremely passionate about his anti-bullying program and does it so that the school remains a friendly, and safe environment for all students.

This school is one big happy family, you get to grow a strong bond with your fellow classmates and the teachers who can help a student more closely due to the small size of this school. The smaller size gives the faculty the ability to help students easily and making sure the students become scientific thinkers who contribute to the global community as socially responsible and educated members of society.

This is a great school, if you decide to send your children to this school you won’t regret it. Your child will receive a quality education, in a safe, and friendly environment while keeping learning both educational and engaging.

Teachers are eager to help the kids learn and build up their confidence. Classes are not are over crowed which allows each student to receive the help that is needed. The school also has a strong PTF where parents are able to meet with the principal every Friday to discuss new events and concerns. This Charter School really includes students, parents and staff to keep things running smoothly. Each year MSA2 has something new like school theme dances, fun field trips, sports, tutoring, college courses etc. As a proud parent myself of a HIGH HONORS 7th grader I can say the school is doing a GREAT JOB.
Well the only thing that I like in that school is the teachers and staffs are really helpful with students that are struggling with assignments and getting the help they needed but other than that this school is very boring the fact that there’s no homecomings, festivals, and anything exciting and fun, the food is really bad, and you’ll get very sick of seeing the same people if you stay in magnolia science academy-2 for high school like I did when I was a student in there but thank goodness I graduated back in 2020 and don’t have to deal with them anymore.
