Mallard Creek Elementary School, Charlotte | Fees, Rankings, Address, Admission, Vacancies, Reviews & More

My child will be starting in the fall as a kindergartener and even though the most recent reviews for this school were not encouraging, I recently took a tour of the school and asked lots of questions. The atmosphere of the school seemed welcoming, the students walking in line down the hallways did not appear to be as if in a regime and/or in chaos. I noted the student work on the wall and was able to see several kindergarten classrooms. I walked into one, where the students were learning money management. Classroom sizes are supposed to be 18:1 next year for kindergarten. The teachers seemed friendly, and students were also. I walked into a technology class and was immediately greeted by kind 5th grade students. The interim principal has accepted the full time position as principal for the upcoming school year. I am hoping the consistency of administration staff will help with overall school morale and student support. I asked questions about the NC Report Card and my questions and concerns were thoroughly answered. I respect that. 3 stars because my child has not started here, but am hopeful. With any school, you get what you put into your child’s education. I am planning to be involved in the PTA. To anyone considering their neighborhood school, please take a tour of the school and ask to speak with parents if you can. That way you can form your own personal opinion and be informed about what is best for your child and family.

School did not address bullying of my child in a proper manner.
