Great school. All kids attended this school. 3 have have come out very successful. 2 have university degrees. 1 doing real estate. Youngest is in year 13 and wants to do law.
I got bullying every years in during primary school and pre-school but in this high school i never get bullying so thats a huge point for this school in my opinions. The quality, teachers, caregivers, is higher than the prices you have to pay when you study in this school. This is my opinion based on my experience in 2023 as an international student. Good school!
This truly is a model high school in Auckland. Enough people in leadership and teachers care for the youth. Keep the good work!
I was a bookish kid with zero interest in sports. In my first year (3 Pro 1, circa 1966), the deputy head Skip Brown called me to his office and told me that if I didn’t play rugby for the school I would, in his words, “not get on very well around here.” I didn’t play rugby and I assume that this was the reason I was caned viciously and repeatedly for serious offences like running in the assembly hall, talking in class (many of these!), being in the general vicinity when someone laughed at the headmaster, all the way up to possession of cigarettes. Eventually, seeing no value in a Manurewa High School education, and rather than bend over for yet another pointless and painful beating, I walked out.

That was then. I sincerely hope that MHS is a more enlightened institution now.

I’m happy that I went here. Probably shoulda stopped here but decided to go to uni and it was a expensive mess.

Had pe had tech had cooking had textiles had hard material had japanese and stuff. Had events and trips and school projects. A variety of options and the teachers are mostly friendly. (Especially when comparing to those snakes and two faces in aut.)
