Maplewood Canadian International School is an excellent school with an excellent team and friendly community.
So far, excellent! Dr. Terry is awesome, so friendly and welcoming. I’m glad we chose this school for all four of my kids coming recently from Alberta, Canada.

Lovely ambiance, my son studies here. Dr. Terry is very friendly and nice. Ms. Rebecca should be kind to my child always.
This school is truly subpar. Students exhibit poor behavior, and the administration is largely absent or ineffective. Their micromanaging teaching and disciplinary techniques hinder the creation of an effective learning environment. Most students are performing below grade level, and instructional materials are scarce. Despite being in its fifth year of operation, the science lab remains unequipped and non-functional. The reliance on Chromebook-based education has only increased student distraction. The school’s use of a demanding English-based Alberta curriculum is impractical given that 75% of the students lack English proficiency. The absence of an ESL program, coupled with constant disruptions, prevents the delivery of an authentic curriculum. While a small group of students (15-20%) show potential, they often leave due to the school’s dysfunction. The teachers, though hardworking and professional, face immense challenges. Many eagerly await the end of their contracts.

Furthermore, the school has a history of withholding teacher salaries, visa penalty costs, and medical expense reimbursements. The employment contract offers little protection. Be aware of potential fines for resigning after the three-month probation period. Teachers who resigned within this period faced threats of fines but were ultimately denied their last month’s salary, as such penalties are illegal.

In conclusion, it is advisable to avoid this school.

This school caused me to develop a fear of white people. It affects one in every five people.
