Marigold is an amazing and magical place. It is a perfect fit for our family. Like any parent, we were committed to finding a preschool that was the best fit for our daughter. Ms. Cimbria was incredibly helpful when we first met her and toured her beautiful, light-filled school. We did not initially seek out a Montessori school, so we appreciated the time Ms. Cimbria took to introduce us to the method and answer our questions.

We were initially hooked based on the balance of learning time (individual, small group, and class) and outdoor play (significant time, year around). Our daughter quickly learned how to properly prepare and dress herself for all types of weather, which is so important to me.

The class size is quite small – a close-knit cohort made up of 2.5–6-year-old children. The instructor-student ratio is incredible, which is a rarity, and offers so many benefits.

Speaking of instructors, we are blown away from by Ms. Cimbria. She is wonderful – creative, deliberate, thoughtful, understanding, fun, and joyful. Her devotion to childhood development is impressive and apparent upon meeting her. Both she and Ms. Anita have such a calming and positive energy. They provide such a caring, respectful, and special place that inspires the children to experiment, explore and develop into independent beings. We are so grateful for them both.

We are impressed by the range of materials and experiences offered including practical life, math, geography, sciences, etc. Activities are self-directed and topics are presented naturally as interests develop and opportunities are presented. I am convinced that Ms. Cimbria must have an endless magical chest/closet where she pulls out fun activities, special artifacts, and other things that contribute to and enhance our daughter’s learning.

Finally, we are grateful for the community that Ms. Cimbria nurtures and constant insights offered by both Ms. Cimbria and Ms. Anita. We are constantly learning from them as we grow as parents! More than anything else, we feel lucky for the positive and encouraging environment they have created where our daughter is developing her self-esteem, confidence, and decision-making and problem-solving skills. It is far beyond what we could have imagined. Our daughter loves her school and we do too!

After having our son attend 2 different local daycare/preschool facilities and visiting lots of others, we were so glad to have found Marigold Montessori when we did.

From the first interaction I had with Ms. Cimbria, I knew this school was different. She went out of her way to call me and answer all of my questions. Her love and commitment to the families that attended her preschool was obvious; she truly loves what she does!

My now 4 year old son has flourished at Marigold. The school is clean, warm, and welcoming. The grand windows let in plenty of sunshine, leading to a bright and happy environment. The plants and fish make it feel like home. In true Montessori style, the works are well organized and there is plenty of room for individual and group lessons.

Outdoors, the kids have free reign of the backyard. Ms. Cimbria goes out of her way to procure engaging and ‘out of the box’ equipment (like the infamous canoe!) that sparks imagination and team work. It’s not unusual to walk in to a parade, a fishing expedition, or a restaurant upon afternoon pick up.

More important than the wonderful facility are the amazing people that work there! Ms. Cimbria (lead), Ms. Anita (assistant), and Ms. Maya (sub) truly are magical! They are calm, creative, and fun! They’ve created a community based on kindness and respect. They communicate the highs and lows of each day- though the daily photo recap makes you feel like you were there.

Run, don’t walk, to tour this wonderful place. Marigold Montessori truly is a unicorn amongst the other preschools in this area!
