I have had my tutor meet with my son’s teacher, and I have met with the school counselor to discuss the fact that my son is failing kindergarten. We are in 3rd 9 weeks of school and have just been informed of the issue. We asked the teacher if she could send him home extra work and she refused. The counselor told me she’d talk to the teacher and they’d be in touch. It has been a week and I’ve still had no resolve to my issue, nor any form of return contact. I asked to see the principal but she was to busy interviewing personnel to speak with a concerned parent.
Thank you for taking your time to read my post. I am going to start a letter writing campaign next to the board of education in Columbia to see if I can obtain some sort of resolution to this problem. I’d give school district 5 a chance to fix this problem but it seems all they do is give excuses, and I’m not interested in hearing about why they can’t. Please don’t make the same mistake I did by sending your children to this school.

Their office staff is very rude. The bullying is not dealt with either. My son made 8 reports on the child and it wasn’t dealt with. He later got suspended for fighting the boy, which was a last resort.
