They have lousy teachers, who are more concerned with trying to be the parent and not the educator. They are more concerned with calling and driving to your house at 8 in the morning trying to pressure you into signing a field trip permission slip than trying to correct the problem that caused them to have to miss the field trip in the first place. My child has been allowed to hit,kick,scream at the teachers, rip papers out of their hands, sit down on playground and refuse to move to the point of having to be carried to the office, and yet I hear nothing about it until they just can’t handle it one day. But yet they continue to baby him allowing him to sit in the teachers lap most of the day. Even after he has just thrown a pencil at her or hit her, he even punched Mr.gurchiek in the face and still nothing but a note sent home. Finally at the end of the year they decided to paddle him which he started to cry, as soon as he got the first swat his tears dried up and he had a smirk on his face. How do you expect a 6in paddle to do anything? The persons hand hit him more than the paddle did. It was hilarious, and to think they actually think that served any purpose. I’m so glad this is my last year to deal with McRae!

This school is more into your personal life than educating our children. If you don’t have a higher class of income they treat you as your stupid and the councler there Mrs. Lamison is more worried about taking your kids than helping them and minipulating special needs children. Mrs. Lavender special ed teacher is the worst of all them.. I have delt with her for 4 years. My kids have been there 2 years and I finally got fed up with the school trying to be parents instead of educators. I have many more people that can tell you this same things about McRae elementary school.

I love this school my daughter is in kindergarten and moving here from a very small town I was worried. But everyone has been wonderful. My daughter is OCD and is picky, at times aggressive about thing but no one at this school has every made her uncomfortable.
