My child has attended this school since kindergarten. I noticed immediately that MMA was several steps above the rest including the #2 school in the state my oldest child attends. My child is now in the 3rd grade and he agrees that he wouldnt go anywhere else. The curriculum is advanced and the teachers strive for excellence in our young scholars. My third grader is completing work that was introduced to my oldest in the 7th grade. No school is perfect but this program is pretty close to it. Dr. Booker is attentive, involved, and ensures parent expectations are met and she selects masters prepared teachers that share her vision. The program is rigorous and the kids are preparing for college while setting the stage that advanced and terminal degrees are a natural progression for minorities which other top schools do not instill in our youth. Sorry to those parents who had a bad experience. I strongly believe it is a partnership and how you engage and push your own kid will yield the expected results.
Bad school. Principal Ms. Booker is very unprofessional and staff attitudes are terrible. If you have questions or concerns regarding your children they will avoid you and have attitudes. They are unprofessional. I have a brother and nephew at this school. I try to get my family to remove them ASAP! They are unorganized. They try to be higher class attitude but do not have the capability of putting a curriculum together. I’m happy my children don’t go here. I have family with kids and have seen other schools programs and to compare this school is far behind. So Memphis merit academy catch up with a better system for the children. Stop trying to hide covid cases. Also stop you attitudes because you make yourself look very less what your are. he principle Ms. Booker is the biggest one and her followers act just like her. DO NOT support this terrible school. Don’t enroll your children here if you care about there education and safety.
Memphis Merit Academy has hands down the best teachers, caring and helpful as well as having high expectations of the students. I love that they teach character development and a focus on literacy! They have high goals for each student and as a school but they offer support to each student to reach their full potential as well. We are so excited that STEM class began this year and they also have high quality before and after school programs to accommodate parent’s schedules. If you ever have a question just call or email, staff has always been helpful and friendly!
