Metro was a game changer for our 4th grader, and we continue to see exponential growth in 5th grade. The magic, we think, is in the small classes with the same curriculum as other schools but the way it’s taught is tailored to each child’s needs and continuous social-emotional support and education. Beyond those two foundational things, the kids have movement every day and the class composition (at least in elementary and middle school) is defined less by age than by what kids will mesh the best for an optimal academic and social-emotional learning environment. Our kiddo, who could easily fall through the cracks in a conventional classroom, is seen and appreciated by the entire staff.
My spouse and I could not be happier with our experience at Metropolitan Schoolhouse. Our eight-year-old boy is a twice-exceptional learner, and it is so refreshing to have an entire school built around the idea that some kids require a different educational environment in order to thrive. We are only a month in at the moment, but he has already made a good friend and we are confident it is the right place for him.
