The magnet program is excellent. My daughter was on the vocal program and Mrs. Ellis is an excellent teacher. It is a shame that the other classes are so relaxed and not very rigorous, because the boys learn almost nothing. Although my daughter saw advanced classes, she did not have a significant advance in her subjects, which are very basic and not very rigorous. They should have a focus on improving the intellectual level of the boys and not having so much time to lose. They should also teach ethics and values ??that society so badly needs. The boys are very revealed to the norms from a very young age and although the moral principles must be taught at home, the boys spend a lot of time in school, influenced by their peers who want to do what they want and who cannot be told nothing
i have been at this school since 6th grade, and im a senior now. even though there has been a bit of drama here and there between peers, it doesnt compare to the quality of education you get, as well as what you learn while youre in the magnet. the skills and classes you take here set you up for success, and even though its quite rigorous, it definitely does prepare you for both college and having a career, especially in the arts. the teachers here are supportive and understanding, and if you communicate with them and simply tell the truth about whatever is going on, they will do everything in your power to help you. im glad i came here, and im glad i stuck around despite any challenges i mightve faced because this school is really special.
I as a student attend this school and in my opinion it is fun, you get to meet people who are interested in the same things you are. Sometimes there is drama, but really if you do your own thing and follow rules you are going to enjoy this school. The teachers are awesome, they do what they can to get you ready. I have almost no problem with shows and homework because I do most of it in my critical thinking class. I really feel that this is a good choice for a school.
