Unless your children have a definite need to homeschool and there is no other option, keep them away from MDO. Do not think that because this is an online school and have been doing it for years, that they excel at it. The school has no leadership to write home about, just a couple of bobbleheads, that come out occasionally either to try to sell their greatness, or reprimand, but nothing else. The very limited non-management staff do all the work. The teaching system itself, K12, rebranded now as Stride, is pathetic, there is no parent dashboard and staying on top of progress, past due items, etc. is a mission. Finally, your children will unfortunately grow lonely and fall behind academically.
Im giving two stars for the 2 teachers and 2 staff members that actually care. But the rest dont care to help. The teachers I dont know what the heck they are doing. They claim my daughter isnt attending class or completing assignments but when I check her browsing history it shows she was in class and same with the assignments. It honestly is very frustrating. Especially cause most seem not to care to help. I will never enroll my children to this virtual school again . Digital academy of Florida on the other hand is fantastic ! I wish I could have placed my older daughter there instead.
Horrible school, Im going to it so many kids are failing and it switchs platforms most teachers are nagging and made me mentally and physically exhausted PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE the teachers and principals switched and school faked its convenience . I havent learned anything and Im not happy and cant get out
