I had started to think that this school was honest with dignity and respect for the kids and adults. I will have two children their and the staff are two faced with a few higher ups.they talk poor to the kids and they boast about no bullying isn’t tolerated and don’t do anything about it. I don’t think that the kids should have to go to a school where the teachers act more like the kids and I myself have witnessed this.the staff are cold and cruel and at times ignorant as are some of the staff. The staff need to grow up and realize we are trusting them to teach our kids and not be their friends and family. Also if a parent brings a problem to a teacher or the other members they have no right to play parent and it’s their responsibility to inform the parents of the kid.Maybe instead of worrying about how much money they can get from families they need to make sure that the kids are being taught and treated well and safe. I can’t wait until I move from park Forest an get the kids out of 163 the higher up need to get involved more and be careful with the kids and listen to the parents and then they won’t get cussed out so much or have to have the cops at the school all the time. So maybe you staff should stop being fake and talking about others and do your job and teach. An have the school a friendly place to be an welcome not a place where it’s like hell or jail.
I went to this school for four years, the school itself is okay for the most part. Give credit to the janitorial workers there, but the students are the rudest people you could meet. Some/most of the staff discluding only a few, are two faced and judge the students behind their backs and talk where the students are forced to be incoherent to the conversations. Some staff will tell other students about how poorly another is. The former principle Dr. Muench used to overreact to things, like something so little as a drawing. There are a few good apples there at the school who I would love to see succeed the schools lack of compassion. The teachers are treated poorly and so are the students. Would not recommend. Like I said, the school deserves one star, but I am being generous to the few who try to make something positive of the school. I am a freshman in high school, so when I say the school isn’t all that great. It’s recent times aren’t well, staff movement is overused and it isn’t great choices. The janitors, Mr. Lopez, Mr. Hotwagner, Ms. Hodges, Mr. Sledge and a few others are the best people to have there. Please be kind to them, but don’t trust any but those people they will make it worthwhile if you are forced to go.
Been in this school for three years And I’ve seen a huge change. Teachers are motivated to get kids learning. Online sites like ttm and achieve helps students reading and math.they also have after school programs like Stem (Science.Technology. Engineering,Math). This school focusses on the arts and they’re living up to it. You can join many PA’s such as: Dance,Choir, Gospel choir,Art, Musical theater, and Band. They all come together to preform shows about 3 times a year. And if none of those interest you, you could stay in your homeroom to catch up on homework or school projects. One thing that didn’t improve was the food. I recommend taking a lunch with you. But the cafeteria structure is really nice. Many things have just built. They have a new section for: 7th and 8th grade, bathrooms, cafeteria, stage, dance room, exercise room, etc.
The discrimination and bulling would be a 3 out of 5. But they do have consoling and nice staff you can talk to about situations
