It’s not a good school if you’re of another race besides the Hispanic and Black race, often times other minority groups (Asians and Whites in the context of Washington Heights) are taunted, teased and excluded. It’s a kind of reverse racism, in a way. I’ve been a student at this school for one year before transferring out because of all the bullying and violence associated with being of a different race/ethnicity. I’ve seen other children being bullied and beat up in the school because they are White (Albanian). The principals fail to adhere to students that are being bullied, and often times the solution is to blame the victim for “provoking” the aggressor. The teachers are rather hesitant to speak up to certain students because they are being constantly intimidated and bullied themselves. I can not exactly pin point where the problem originates in this school, but I can say that there is no progress. Overall (from the perspective of a non Hispanic – non Black student) Education: 4/10 Safety: 1/10 Faculty: 2/10 Location/Building: 8/10 Organization: 5/10 Needless to say, the location of the school is fine, and the campus is large. Enjoy.
Graduated from this school, props to the teacher and staff but one thing was that the some teachers were really strict but great school!
