This is by far an amazing school. The 4×4 schedule really allows kids who want to succeed to be able to. The wide variety of courses means there’s something for everyone. From preforming arts and theatre to Calculus and Computer Science and an extremely rigorous Physical Education Department. This school really has talent in many fields. Not everything will be easy, but that’s the best part. Teachers truly care and although I may not be best friends with all of them, no one can deny the passion they have for their field and work. Most Teachers are available during lunch and after school, on their own time, to help students. The counselors are very flexible and helpful with changing your courses. That being said my three recommendations:

Take the hard courses, and lots of them. Even if its just an extra math class, you will thank yourself later. Don’t ever let yourself think you’re not smart enough for a course, you’ll be surprised how easier some “higher up” courses are!

Towards your Junior or Senior year, start thinking about taking concurrent enrollment courses in Community College, tuition is free for Highschoolers, you’ll have to do research and planning but if you can, do it.

Lastly, make your own plan for college. Know every course you need for highschool and start making college course plans as well. You’ll change it a bunch but its the best way to get you prepared for the future. Counselors can help but you have to do the work and planning.

You’ll make mistakes(I sure did) but that’s the point. I heartily recommend this school to anyone

This is a great school, and most of the staff are friendly and nice.
But the ladies at the two desks in the front office are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. There are a number of students, and their parents, who have been complaining about how rude the front office ladies are.
Yes, I know that high schoolers can be rude as well, but that doesn’t mean every one of us should be lumped into that category.
If you work at a school, you shouldn’t talk down to the students and purposefully make them feel small.
Also, we’re not allowed to roll our eyes at members of the school staff, so I don’t understand why the ladies in the office think it’s okay to roll their eyes at us every time we ask a question?
Just saying.
I should feel comfortable walking up to the ladies at the front desks and asking questions. I don’t. I dread going into the office because every single time I have gone in there, those ladies are rude. I understand having a bad day or being irritable every once in awhile. But it’s not okay for it to happen every single time I go into the office. I’m a good student; I’ve never gotten into trouble. So I don’t understand why I’m getting constant attitude from the start whenever I walk into the office.
Everything else about the school is amazing. So it’s sad that the people greeting you when you walk into the office are the worst part of it.
