Nope
not the place to be. For reference, the longest part of my hair is the back which hits my bra strap but the front half of my hair has face framing layers that hit my shoulders. A few complaints here
first I got a quote over the phone that full highlights start at $75. When I got there and showed the lady a pic of what I wanted, she said she didnt think they could lift my hair to the desired color. I asked her what color she thought they could lift it to and she pulls out a book and shows me the same color that was in the picture I just showed her, smh. I said that would be a good color, lets move forward with that. Then I sit in the chair and I tell her I only want partial highlights, not full because I like the darker base and dimension when my hair is down. She clearly didnt know what partial highlights were because she told the other lady to only color the sides of my head and do not touch the hairs in the back at all. SMH again. I showed her a pic of partial vs full highlights then she tells me that the pic, which is clearly labeled partial highlights, is balayage. Ummm, maam, balayage is a highlighting technique and not the placement of where the highlights go
partial balayage would also be partially in the back of the head
anyways, to top it off, she says shes going to charge me $150 for ONLY the two panels on each side of my head, just lining up with my ears. I told her that is expensive for partial highlights especially when she wasnt even going to fully do the whole partial highlights job. SMH I had to get up and walk out. I thanked her for her time but I wasnt about to overpay to look crazy with only the sides of my head painted a color she couldnt even identify in a pic vs the book of swatches. I would def stay away from this place
unless you like to look busted. Enjoy.
Elin is the stylist who does my hair. She has been doing my hair for years. She had my hair healthy and growing. I moved and lost contact with her and my hair suffered. Finally I found her at Moda and I immediately scheduled an appointment. Now my hair is once again thriving. Elin is very knowledgeable and accommodating. She tells me what to do with my hair until my next appointment. Always with a smile on her face.
