This is in reference to nutrition services. I had been hired on as a substitute worker. I applied and interviewed for a position more permanent. A month goes by no word on the more permanent position, in the mean time, I do a lift test, physical, fingerprinting and all the paperwork for substitute. The day before my on boarding day I get a voicemail to set up an orientation for the other position. I called to touch base and then I am told I need more job references. I have worked for the same company in the food service industry for 32 years and I was told they needed more!! The other 2 places I had worked prior are out of business, also in the food industry. So I was asked have you dog sat, baby sat ? I say no I have worked for 32 years for the same company. So not good enough I guess I was told I should just substitute to get my foot in the door since I didn’t have much work history!! Left hand right hand not on the same page I suppose. Too bad I am a great employee. If they had actually called where I work they would have found that out.
And in addition I have looked back at voicemail etc I was asked to provide my current supervisors personal number to vouch for me, the 32 yr current job, I thought that’s why you give personal references? I am dumbfounded how the resume I provided to be a substitute, which I was hired for, fingerprinted twice, by their staff, filled out all the paperwork aka everything they asked, was the same resume I provided to be interviewed for the position I am now needing more info for to prove work history! I used to manage for the company, I still work for, hiring process is different for each job I know but when I was given a resume or application you read it maybe call a reference call to check job history. I was told to apply for a substitute as when I was already hired etc for that to get my foot in the door? Why will they want a reference to vouch that is is actually my foot. Maybe a look at the way your hiring process regarding nutrition services is actually conducted.
Very sad they let the law over the safety of the kids.if a tragedy happens at any of the Modesto schools let it be known that as long as their is a person on the birth certificate, they will release the child to that “parent” even if the kid has no idea who they are. I have an open custody battle, have proof of it, and if their is nothing signed by a judge, they will release the child. Sonoma elementary school is one of the worst schools I think a parent can enroll their child in. The principal will not take the time to call or meet a parent if they are concerned about a child’s safety. The school district needs to replace the lying scum of principal that is overseeing the safety of those kids. He is a liar, and doesn’t care. We are an active duty family without the ability to keep showing up to a Georgia courthouse just so the other “parent” to not show. They would release my child to someone the child doesn’t know or recognize just because the law says so, no morals or safety, please take the time to view a picture of the only contact I have ever recieved from the principal of that school. It is in my Google reviews under pictures. Because they will not allow the picture to be seen on their page. I hope something is done to improve the safety of the children.
My daughter and I have so much gratitude for MVA Director Anthony Little. The passion this man puts in his job and even went the extra mile for my daughter in assisting her to understand the process of the study guides in the Apex learning program and how they work he did this with great patience and care.

My voice as a mother and the voice of my daughter was heard and he took care of us. As a parent it is priceless to have Mr Anthony Little as a member of the Modesto City Schools.
