This is not, however, a Montessori accredited school, and not all Montessori principles are implemented. No mixed-age classrooms, busy work with the focus on learning how to read and write even if kids don’t enjoy the work because they have a “curriculum” to follow. This school worked great for us for a year but once the new school year started and my child was moved to a different room because of age, he started hating school complaining about the work given to him. I spoke with the teachers and they told me that in the sensitive period he was (movement) I needed to place him in extra curricular sports activities because they don’t include physical activities in their program unless you pay more for gymnastics or Zumba. I was also told that Montessori wasn’t for every kid, and that they had a strict curriculum/standards to follow… maybe they need relearn how and why the Montessori Educational Method was created before saying something like that and charging Montessori tuition.
We are speaking 2 languages at home and she is learning on top of English, Spanish and Chinese at school. They are helping them to draw, learn songs with them, dances.
They teach them discipline, not showing cartoons, no one is yelling and they have a cool anti bullying solutions! I went to other schools, and was in shock.
I completely support their solution on calling parents and notifying their concerns regarding children’s health! There are other kids! They need to take care of them and make sure that they all will be healthy.
Ms Kathy is very helpful as well. Any time I had a questions…about ANYTHING (!) she would help me and explain.
I know that I don’t need to worry about my daughter with them…and I’m one of the panicking moms…it’s not easy for me to trust my child to anyone. But I know that I can trust them.
