My daughter went here part time for about 4 months. She started at 14 months old. In those 4 months she got bit 5 times. This was very annoying because there is a very low teacher-child ratio, 1:3. Also, you pay a lot for this facility. They only provide 2 snacks. Parents are to provide lunch, diapers, and wipes. I personally don’t think it’s priced fairly. Also, with the Montessori motto, children are to guide their learning, however, at such a young age, this is hard for them to do. I would have liked to have seen a little more interaction from the teachers but they may be following what they were told. Also, bc of this, there is nothing in place for curriculum at this age. It’s an overpriced daycare for this age group. The facility is older and the playground isn’t the safest. However, the teachers are very sweet and management is approachable which is a plus. I just wished they were better about preventing accidents, even though I know they’ll happen, or doing something to stop them from reoccurring. We have since moved to a cheaper facility that provides more and has a daily curriculum which we are happy with.
My son is 6 and started at Montessori at the age of 2. Since he never attended any other school, I can only speak for our experience here. The Montessori style of teaching is incredible. In what is the equivalent of kindergarten, my son is learning multiplication and recently told me the definition of a noun. But all of this is through hands-on activities rather than traditional teaching. Had I started out learning math in the Montessori way, maybe I wouldn’t have required a math tutor all through high school! Because they work at their own pace, my son is never bored, and he enjoys going to school.
