As an 8th grader that just started this year, I remember having a great experience at this school. I was placed in SP for seventh grade, and the program was excellent. Most of my teachers were excellent with teaching what needed to be learned. They were very respectful, and deep down inside they care about each student and wants them to reach success. If you go to this school, just ensure that you give the teachers a chance. You have to keep in mind that being a teacher is a stressful job, and that some of these teachers are nervous as well to meet the new students, especially newer teachers like Ms. Allen (Vocal). I’ve learned much at this school, and I’ve loved the various teaching methods used.

This school did have a few clubs, like the Soccer Club and the Drama Club. However, a major problem at this school is the budget. As a Student Council Member, I learned that our school couldn’t afford many clubs, like a Chess Club, Debate Team and different spirit days (speaking of which, no one really participates in these spirit days because everyone thinks that they’re too “cool” for it). We were lucky enough to get the Drama Club, thanks to Senator Avello, but at the moment the school budget isn’t the best. I hear that they are going to be bringing the Debate team to life, so that’s a bonus.

Overall, this school doesn’t suck. I understand that students dislike the strict rules, but these rules are for discipline and safety. Strict teachers are just doing their jobs to strengthen our characters. Had I not gone to this school, I would have never learned from my experiences, nor would I have grown into a more mature person.

I’m not going to be biased and say that this school is perfect, because there are some things that aren’t good, like the budget and the attitude of students. Still, this school offers a solid education, which is the main purpose of school. I was glad enough to be able to attend this school and grow as a character. If you don’t really mind the rudeness of some students (which is inevitable in any school) and just want a solid education with the opportunity to be in some school activities, then MS158 is a good school. It isn’t the best, but it’s a good school.

This school isn’t bad academically, but some students that attend 158 can be kind of rude and stuck up sometimes IM NOT GONNA NAME NAMESSS But all im gonna say is that i see this mostly happen in the seventh grade. Obviously as a graduated eighth grader from this school, I can say we do feel superior over the 6&7 th considering it is our last year and we are, by facts, The oldest there. All I have to say for fifth graders going into sixth, good luck and you will do fine just don’t get yourself in trouble. Sixth going to seventh, this year you gotta kick ass bc the high schools are looking at this work and if you don’t exceed and wanna go to a good high school you better start working. The teachers are really hard on you, nothing like sixth grade. Finally, for the upcoming class of 2018, Kickass, work hard, and after all that you relax because when its toward the end of may and the beginning of june, that where all the fun starts. Sooooo Good Luck future graduates ??
