I recently visited the Mulford School and was allowed to observe a class of five year olds taught by the school’s director, Mrs. Mulford. I was very favorably impressed. Mrs. Mulford, with some 60 years teaching experience, is a master teacher who held the children’s attention throughout the class, which I observed for about an hour. She made learning fun and the children were definitely learning not only fundamental reading skills, but speaking in front of a group, manners, singing and playing musical instruments, and generally showing respect for one another. I think what most impressed me was the sweetness the multi-cultural group of children showed toward one another during the free time between the teacher’s instructional lessons. The school is remarkably well-kept. The teachers I was introduced to (also a multi-cultural group) impressed me as well-balanced and deeply devoted teachers. An air of happiness pervades the school. A profusion of brightly colored educational visuals decorates the walls. The school has a very large multi-purpose hall and several smaller, but nicely sized classrooms. Each classroom has its own entrance from outside (they are on the ground floor). This is an important fire safety feature, and it also gives, I think, the children a more secure, homey feeling about their school experience.
My sister used to ride ther amd she LOVED IT!!!!! Mr and mrs Mulford are so nice and understanding to everyone. They make it fun by not just making it about the riding, and making it about the expeiriance to. Even when i was 5 years old i took a day camp there and it was the funnest time of my life, it included activities such as: drawing, games, riding horses, taking care of the animals, making dirt and worm desert, and so much more!!!!!!! I highly recomend going there.
best school ever! the teachers and assistants are very attentive to the needs of each child. amazing staff! they are welcoming and give a warm feeling to all who enter the school.
