This review is purely about the venue and about Bridget, their front desk person. — We have been coming here since last year; almost a year of voice lessons for my daughter. Suddenly today (June 2, 2023), the venue decides to hold a type of Friday evening nightclub for teens, at 6 PM. The venue was made dark to feel like a nightclub, music was playing loud, kids were being noisy, and it seems teens are being given a space to be ‘conditioned’ to live a nightlife/nightclub lifestyle in their near future. This was a bit shocking to see and not of our liking at all – does not feel wholesome or safe at all, and I personally would advise parents to stay away or be present, and perhaps ask for the lights to be turned back on, so it can feel safe. — Our voice lesson has been scheduled at 6:30 PM on Fridays, for a while now, and when we showed up, the commotion clearly was too much for lessons to be taken/given in a peaceful environment, as they have been since we started going there. I talked to the young lady at the front desk (not bridget), and she was very nice and started to help look for an alternate day/time for my daughter to take voice lessons, since it seems the teen nightclub thing is there to stay. Since there were no options that match our schedules, I stated that this would be my daughter’s last day, and I simply would want a refund for the remaining of the month. Bridget jumped in and in a nasty manner stated: “you know what, yes, it’ll be best to get you guys out of here!” That was totally uncalled for. By including my daughter in that statement, it really showed how she does not comprehend that the only time customers will remember is the last 5 minutes of how you treated them. People could support your place for months and years, and if in the last five minutes you act that nasty toward them, they will remember you for just those five minutes. — I really wish the teen nightclub had never been started here, or it had been started AFTER scheduled lessons, or parents had been made aware of the commotion they were to expect, so they could simply walk away. The adults in charge at this place do not realize how this teen nightclub thing looks like ‘grooming’, since parents are not even allowed in the room (I was specifically told that I could wait for my daughter inside a practice room, as if they did not want parents around). It looks a bit shady and they should try to preserve the wholesome image that they have had since we began going there. Whosever idea it was to give teens a nightclub feel to their hangout event (making the room dark, adding strobe lights, playing loud music, etc.), they simply did not think it through and, in my opinion, made a very bad choice.
I have been sending my children to Music Vault Academy for two and half years. My daughter takes voice lessons and my son plays the piano. All the teachers we have worked with here have been great! Bianca, who works at the front desk is the best! She is so friendly and helpful. My daughter has a new voice teacher who seems very nice, Ms. Mila. Johnny B. currently teaches my son the piano. He is a very good teacher! He is patient, clear and very good with kids. He utilizes all learning platforms, hands-on as well as apps. My son really enjoys his lessons with Johnny and also likes practicing the assigned work at home. Johnny knows how to engage his students and makes learning music fun! Thank you!
