This is from a concerned friend or family member of a first grade student that while attending Montessori Environmental Academy in Norton Shores had a Swastika and other pictures drawn in her classroom notebook. The teacher dismissed it as “squiggly lines”. Also the 1st grader had several instances of bullying that the school concluded was children learning to be friends.

This has had a drastic impact and even caused a 1st grader who loved school to not want to go. She also had nightmares from the bad classroom experience. A class change was denied by the principal citing she needs consistency. Consistent bullying and racial intimidation?

The school then blocked the parent from their Facebook page so no comments could be added regarding this.

Terrible. Sent my son to the preschool here and it was a mistake. Teacher tried to shift him from his left-handedness to writing right-handed and he still has problems writing years later. Walked in early several times to pick up my son and the teacher was yelling at the class. A class of four year olds. We left after three months. PLEASE don’t waste your time and money here.
MMAEC staff are the most dedicated people I have ever worked with. Each student is treated as an individual and their education is individualized to help them meet and exceed their own goals. Communication between teachers and parents is frequent and welcoming.
