I have training in Karate for 20+ years. I have tried at least 15 different karate schools around the country with corporate moves. I train for many reasons, but the quality and integrity of the instructor is most important one. Andy is the best! His martial arts skills are excellent and I learn something each time I train. What I find most useful with Andy’s approach is the applications he has developed from Kata. These are self defense techniques implied in the Kata. This is really special and I had not had the opportunity see this in other schools I attended. If you are looking for exercise, stress relief, self defense, training, Kata and application, a bit of sparring and reasonable rates, see Sensei Mecham!
We enrolled our son in karate several years ago after learning the benefits of Karate for those with learning disabilities as Karate is very multi-sensory using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic techniques. We are nearing 8 years later and it has become a passion of his. Nampa School of Karate is a wonderful facility and Sensai Mecham is a wonderful teacher. We have since added several more family members and friends to the school. We highly recommend NSOK!
My nephew has been training at NSOK for about 7 years. When I decided to start Karate it seemed a no brainer to go to NSOK and train with Sensei Mecham. Best decision. I love it! What a fun way to learn new skills and get in to shape! Great for all ages. Sensei Mecham is a great teacher, knowledgeable and obviously loves the sport.
