I love the flexibility of NBS Thousand Oaks! I started taking classes for a month or two, and then was able to leave for a few weeks to take care of family medical issues and jump back in without feeling completely lost. Its not overly structured, but that allows you to tailor the experience to you. You also dont have to take every class. I only take Mondays and Tuesdays because thats when my favorite instructor teaches! I love the pace and content that Dans classes have! He has given us so many acronyms/stories/rhyming reminders that help me remember drinks, and he knows his stuff! I am an endless asker of questions, and he always gives me his full attention and answers with very thought out explanations. Dan has a way of keeping class light and fun, but imparting knowledge along the way. HIGHLY recommend Monday and Tuesday classes!
Very friendly environment with well experienced and educated instructors. Dan has a vast amount of knowledge with liquors and their history while Julio has great advice for performance and style. I was able to complete the course with high marks in about a month’s time.
The only bad things I can say about the Thousand Oaks facility is that its a little small and tends to get crowded. Also masquitos can occasionally be a problem.
Other than those two small inconveniences, I would strongly recommend the Thousand Oaks location!
I love this school!!!! It’s so even and you learn so much. Dan is amazing on getting the material to stick with you. He gives you stories to remember the drinks and alot of knowledge for you to be able to learn the drinks. Julio is amazing too. He gets you up behind the bar and have you make drinks over over over until you remember it. He gives you the muscle memory. It’s such an all around class and so even. I love these 2 instructors. I’m gunna miss you guys so much
