As a former customer here, I can’t find a way to appropriately express my displeasure with this facility and many of the interactions and poor experiences here. Over several months, my daughter had come home with a diaper rash when she had never gotten them before, or since we’ve removed her. The negligence and arrogance were enough to bring my wife to tears and we’re both angry for giving them chance after chance to fix their mistakes and incompetences. So many times have we walked into pick up our child, and found that workers were absent, children left dirty, mucous running down their faces, phones left set up to play videos instead of interacting with the children, bugs inside the building, etc. We’ve even found our daughter with someone’s clip on finger nail that she found on the floor, IN HER MOUTH.
The owner and director Mr. Walker has a very nonchalant, cavalier attitude towards everything as he’s “been doing this for a very long time”. He’s clearly checked out and very tired of this business. An entire month after we removed our child from this zoo of a daycare, we are still being billed bi-weekly and not refunded, to the point where I’m calling my card company to issue a merchant block. Please parents, if you love your children and your sanity, do not enroll your child here. You will likely regret it.
My son had a wonderful learning and growing experience during his time at NECDS. Beginning part-time at 4 months and moving to full-time at 1 year, he was joyfully greeted by staff in the morning and came out a happy boy every afternoon. He was able to work through any challenge in his early school years with positive and encouraging feedback from his teachers and amazed us with what he was able to learn. We had only positive experiences with management and staff, particularly the wonderful long-term teaching staff that became like family. We are especially grateful for the way NECDS was able to rationally navigate the COVID environment of 2020-21 by continuously operating without any incidents. Our son is developing at or above his peers at 2.5 y/o as a result of his experience at NECDS and we are forever grateful.
Parting thought: early-school experience is all about the impact it makes on the child, and parents should set aside any real or perceived impressions of educators and focus on the positive aspects of the school. I would give my most sincere recommendation to parents to give your child a chance to experience NECDS!
Im not sure what happened to all the old positive reviews from over the years. My daughter has been going here for 3 years since she was 6 weeks old. Great staff, friendly, amazing with kids. She comes home with new pictures she makes at daycare everyday, new songs she’s learned that they sing in class, plenty of outside time. During the heart of the pandemic the school was amazing also. Nothing bad to say
