The staff and administrators are very caring. This school is for students with therapeutic needs on a variety of different levels. Our son has gotten the help he needed after public schools could not give him the skills needed for coping traumatic stress. The school has taught us as a family how to listen, understand, and re assess the important things. New Hope deserves more kudos more often than they get it. The staff and therapists deal with more than “normal” day to day school and testing. They provide life long learning and coping skills and also give students metrics that they need to achieve for graduation.
As a student here I wouldn’t recommend it. Much of the staff is bias and will often pick favorites. The cab company that is used to transport students (CitiCare) is less than reputable and their drivers will often violate many traffic laws and student transportation rules. The curriculum is extremely disorganized, mostly because the school is geared towards therapeutic needs not academic success. Much of the teachers are lazy when it comes to teaching and some even make you feel dumb for asking questions. Not my cup of tea, definitely a last resort school.
