Parents please read the one star reviews!! My children attended pre k3 and pre k 4 last year, had no issues, and it was a good experience up until this school year. My son, who was in pre k 4 and has ADHD, was suspended by the second week of school starting. I received one call from his teacher and we agreed to work together on helping my son in class with his disability and I asked her to please let me know if their is anything I can do. Instead she made me pick up my son twice and then he was suspended the following day. I met with the principal of the school who had the absolute worst and unprofessional attitude I have ever encountered in education. The way she talked to me and my son was so nasty and full of attitude. She insisted we were blaming them, when all I wanted was resources, and information on what was happening since my son attended this school last year and wasn’t ever suspended. I explained I just wanted to understand better what was happening in class and have a teacher willing to work with me and at least give me time instead of suspending him the second week, or offer the resources they have for him here since he loved this school so much. She rolled her eyes, raised her voice, and said I should’ve read the handbook and found resources for myself. I didn’t understand why she was angry and her tone was aggressive during a meeting about a 4 year old and not an opportunity for us to just communicate. They say they don’t have time and that their class is too big for the teacher to assist my child. YET they say the classrooms are small here upon enrollment. I now still encounter the principal from time to time when dropping my daughter off and she ignores me or rolls her eyes still. It makes being at the school uncomfortable. If your child has any disabilities I would look into other schools who will have the patience and professionalism needed to fully assist your child. My daughter is still attending this school until we move this December and then I will transfer her but her teacher Mrs. Howard and some other teachers there are very sweet and engaging with their students and I’m glad my daughter received a great teacher, unfortunately I had to pull my son out of the school because I was so saddened about how his teacher and principal spoke to him and treated him. He loved going to school and now he tells me he’s afraid. Keep in mind this is a charter school and they practically make up their own rules and if they do something wrong you hardly have no one to take the matter up with especially the principal. They will defend themselves over your child and do not communicate well. I’m very disappointed in myself for choosing this school for my kids. Definitely learned my lesson.
ATTENTION ?? parents of kids 6th-12th I urge you not to send your kids to Newman international academy ceader hill.

I myself have two step kids that went to NICH for the 2021/22 semester and since then my whole family has been nothing but surprised at just how bad the school is in contrast to what they tell you during the interviews, first of all the school is very disorganized most teachers have zero patience and are very unprofessional, the few good teachers are not given the proper resources they need to teach kids, the school appointed an unqualified 6th grade sub as Interim principal and left her there permanently even after the school got worse with her, my kids complain about the lunch a lot. And the superintendent dr. Sheba George does not care about the children, she only cares about how she looks in the public eye, they force girls to where skirts on Certain days even if it’s freezing weather, and get this, they don’t let them wear tights to even slightly warm up, this particular campus is located in a for lack of better words foresty area so when is rains it get muddy, and the best part is they force children to come dressed in all white shoes and all white socks, you can imagine how my kids look when they come back home, and most importantly the security is horrible, the school is surrounded by Forrest so that mean literally anyone for outside can easily wonder in at any given moment, but do they care? Nope as long as our children sit in their seats they get paid. Parents/student complaints are 100% guaranteed to be ignored.
and despite the preaching about the morals they teach at the school, students do and sell drugs rampantly on campus, there are even videos on social media of children doing drugs in that very school, shown to me by my children . and my 16 year old step son has had many items stolen from him during his short but regretful time there, the only positive thing about this school I can say is that at the very least your kids will get a solid day workout From walking accros this huge campus all day long, there a lot more negative things to say about this school but if i were to list them all I’ll be nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, long story short avoid Newman international academy and any of its other locations.

This is our daughter’s third year attending NICH and we really love it, She came from a bilingual school and her transition to Newman was very smooth for her, she kept up very quickly with the help of Mrs. Bittner as her kindergarten teacher, now that she is in second grade she has had no problems with the language, Mr and Mrs Kuntz and Mrs Grimes have been very good and easy to talk to about any concerns I have, we like that not only is she getting a good education, but she is also being taught valuable life skills. What we also like about this school is that the classrooms are not overcrowded and so the teachers have more opportunity to help their students one by one.
