These fake ass reviews. Administration is systematically destroying the learning process at this institution. They spend inordinate amounts of staff time and energy on policing the students rather than creating a solid environment for students. The staff themselves are doing they possibly can with what little resources they are allowed by a disconnected board. While the diversity of the student body can make it difficult to find a balance between student freedom and school supervision, the deans have chosen to run the school like cook county jail. In a matter of 10-15 years this school has gone down hill… Fast, the nature of student behavior has degraded due to a corrupt and indifferent administration. We have gone from being lovely northshore suburban high school to the equivalent of an underfunded CPS facility. I want to remind people that the administration has devised away to do all of the above without getting the finger pointed at themselves; save Nancian Gatta, that corrupt baffoon. They are effectifevly handcuffing the the teachers and guidance counselors so as to mislead student frustration and angst towards a group of people who frankly, love their students to death and want nothing but too see them do great things. The teachers aren’t the one’s who lock every door during the day and the counselors aren’t really the ones who tell students they can’t change teachers because there teaching method isn’t effective on them or because there is a sour relationship between the teacher and the student. What I’m trying to say here is, this school is messed up, and it will continue down this path until parents and students realize who the puppet masters are. On its face Niles West is a lovely place, ask the students about there school, ask the teachers about there bosses, you’ll get the picture that the crooked administration doesn’t want you to see.
Being a student here all four years literally was probably the worst experience I have ever had this school honestly only cares if you are bringing something good to their name. A lot of teachers here do not teach they don’t care if you pass or fail because they’re only in it for the money. I had a physics teacher that I asked so kindly to change because he wasn’t doing his job and I’ve always asked for help but he had no clue what he was doing . Everyone always tried to turn it on me like I wasn’t doing anything but previous classes have told me that he was the worst teacher. That wasn’t my only incident with a bad teacher. My sophomore English teacher was pretty bad as well he didn’t teacher either. This school is also filled with rude people it’s a very diverse school but there is groups other races don’t really talk to each other like that. In my opinion I would not ever send my child to this school for the simple fact that they would have to teach themselves all four years. And it’s always your fault at this school
This is definitely one of the best schools in the surrounding Chicago land area. The staff are well educated and very down the earth. TON of extra curricular activities to get involved in. School is always being improved. It says a lot when your football field costs a whopping 1 million dollars. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, IT WILL BE OVER BEFORE YOU KNOW IT! The students are very well cultured. And for the most part, polite. Would definitely come back if I could. #ClassOf2k15
