They aren’t properly preparing the Kids for Kindergarten. They don’t following Norwalk school district curriculum. They are pretty much babysitters. There aren’t any trained teachers, the “teachers” are sitters. The kids play all day, sing songs. They’re extremely expensive for watching your kids from 9:15 to 12:30pm if you want extra time you have to pay for that which adds up to about $700. Amy who is the director is rude and very unkind, She lies. She kicked my 4 year old out of school twice with lies saying that the book keeper said so she doesn’t make the rule but after speaking to the book keeper she says she never speaks to Amy ??
All they care about is the money. They don’t care about teaching you child anything. A mother of a student was sadly surprised that her daughter wrote a few letters on a piece of paper. The mother asked the director if she saw her do this, Amy replied with a I wasn’t here. The mother then said to her child I don’t believe you did that at all. None of the students except one could write their name ( my daughter). I wouldn’t in all seriousness ever recommend this place to my worse enemy. You would be wasting your money and also your child will have difficulties once they reached kindergarten. They would be so far behind
Figuring out a preschool for our three year old daughter was a journey for us. We wanted a loving, caring environment where she would be safe, able to explore learning, develop playing skills and given one on one attention to thrive. We toured a handful of other schools and our search stopped after visiting Nitzan Nursery School. Nitzan is a play based school that allows these little ones to advance at their own pace. It is also a small school where the teachers really get to know your child. The hidden gem at this school is Amy, the director. Being a former public school teacher she brings so much knowledge to the environment. The kids are exposed to so many awesome programs she brings in, for example soccer, jump bunch, and other various activities. Outside school hours they can attend special movie nights and family programs as well. The kids also learn the importance of giving back to the community with quarterly service/donation projects. Although we are not Jewish, having our daughter learning about a new religion, celebrations and being introduced to Hebrew, have all been amazing experiences for our daughter and family.
We are so happy with our decision to put our son in Nitzan. He is so well taken care of and supported. On days off he starts pulling us to walk there (we live miles away). We’ve registered him for summer camp and the fall program. Nitzan’s director, Amy, is absolutely wonderful and we’re all lucky to have her. She really took the time to work with us and is extremely attentive to every detail about both the kids and the parents needs.

During our son’s first semester there this spring he was diagnosed with autism. We had suspected something was up, but this was confirmation. Just before his evaluation the staff, very gently and discreetly, let us know about some of the difficulties he was having. We truly appreciated their attentiveness, and the follow up accommodations they’ve made for him. He’s been making excellent progress, and his therapists have been welcomed into the nursery to work with him in that setting from time to time.

We highly recommend Nitzan for your family (and highly disagree with the negative review someone left here back in 2018).
