During the pandemic, we had 2 kids at Noble Learning Academy, a 6th grader & 8th grader. Had a FANTASTIC experience!! Our kids both thrived, and greatly benefited from the small class sizes, personalized attention, and outstanding teachers! My 6th grader happily returned as a 7th grader last Fall.

Miss Cassie, who has been a middle school teacher for almost 30 years, is the founder of Noble Learning Academy. She LOVES middle schoolers, and she “gets” them!! She’s warm, has a great sense of humor, super creative, incredibly patient, and has a great balance between being well-liked and having fun with the kids and also being well-respected by them. In addition to Miss Cassie, we had very good experiences with ALL the teachers — I want to give a special shout out to Mr. Hull, who is without any doubt, the *best* and most dedicated math teacher either of my kids have ever had! We loved all the teachers — there wasn’t anyone we weren’t happy with!

As a parent, I feel that the teachers went above and beyond in every way. During covid, if class started and one of my kids wasn’t logged in for some reason, within 3 minutes of the class starting, I would have a text from one of the teachers seeing if there was a problem, and letting me know that my child wasn’t logged in yet (My 6th grader learned to be very punctual!! Thanks NLA!!). Also, both of my kids occasionally had problems grasping a math concept during class. Before the end of the school day, I would have a text letting me know that the teacher wanted to work 1-on-1 with one of my kids after school to make sure my son didn’t fall behind. Who else does this for your child???? It’s simply amazing! I could mention several other examples of this kind of “above and beyond”, but hopefully this will give you an idea.

Several students joined Noble Learning Academy after school started, in Nov, Dec, January last year, after having issues with their schools. The families all felt their kids were having a far better experience in school after joining NLA.

Noble Learning Academy has evolved since the covid year, and recently received a Non-Profit status! What that means is that scholarships may be available to help out families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it.

The school is currently located in Walnut Creek (near Target), within a church, although the school is not religious or affiliated with the church. If your child would thrive in a smaller school with small class sizes, you should meet Miss Cassie and tour NLA.

Downsides: If your child thrives in a bigger school environment with bigger classes and more friend choices, this probably isn’t the school for you. Also, a downside for some is that there isn’t a gym. That wasn’t super important for our kids, but it may be for some.

We are very grateful to Miss Cassie and all the teachers at Noble Learning Academy for a very nurturing education for our kids =)

Our experience at Noble Learning Academy has been exceptional! You can’t find a better school than Noble Learning Academy if your child needs flexibility and individual attention to thrive. The tuition is a bargain for the education your child will receive. My son started attending in 2020 when Palmer School abruptly closed during the Covid shut down. Miss Cassie, the founder of NLA, was his teacher at Palmer School. She rescued us from a year of uncertainty by creating this amazing school. She recruited terrific teachers who have decades of experience and are dedicated educators. My son loved his teachers at NLA. They have created an extremely supportive learning environment. The flexibility and attention each child receives is unparalleled. The teachers know each child’s strengths and weaknesses because of the very small class sizes. They are always available for help and discussions. The classes are collaborative and the students are taught to use an array of technology. You need to meet Miss Cassie. She is a warm , engaging, wonderful person on top of being an amazing educator. She is an inspiration. She turned adversity into opportunity and created Noble Learning Academy in the most challenging of times.
This school has made such a tremendous positive impact in my daughter’s life. My daughter had suffered from debilitating anxiety/depression since the start of the pandemic, exacerbated by the school closures, the subsequent disjointed virtual/zoom learning, social isolation, school phobia, etc. I started searching for private schools that specialize in social emotional learning and the whole child and came upon Noble Learning Academy. When I first met with Miss Cassie, I just got this good, warm vibe. I felt like she completely understood what my daughter was going through.

After my daughter’s first day there, she came running out, beaming, smiling, telling me about her day and the kids that she met. To hear your child say that they like school, that they look forward to going every day, having previously had a severe school phobia, is amazing. My daughter is happier now in general. Miss Cassie and the teachers are extremely caring and take the time to address each child’s specific needs. I am so impressed with the level of attention that has been given to my child, and their help in addressing certain gaps in her learning. I cannot say enough about how amazing this school is.
