Went to school here. Don’t recommend the cosmetology program. I didn’t learn anything I hadn’t already known. They charge you for everyday you miss even if you’re clinically sick and give them dr notes they still charge you. They’re kits are overly expensive when half the things in it you can find at the dollar general. You spend too much money learning nothing. If you do plan on going to this school don’t take any of the extra class don’t ask for the upgrades extra stuff just take your classes and once you graduate go and learn from people who are actually in salons today and know what’s trending and know how to give haircuts that people want and not 80s cuts. You also never learn about aesthetics even though it’s in the program and you’re being charged for it. A lot of things you will not learn because you are with teachers who have never done these things in an actual salon. Only teacher I ever learned from was miss Michele and then I dropped out. Waste of time
I would not go here for a haircut again. I’m just basing this off the experiences I’ve had with each of the schools here in modesto. The customer service at the counter wasn’t bad and the girl who cut my hair was very sweet. The problem I had was that I asked for a certain cut on my bangs and the girl who cut my hair said she knew exactly what I wanted then gave me a bowl cut. The instructor only checked it one time and never came back. When I go to Paul Mitchell or CA Beauty College the instructors are actively checking to make sure you are happy and the haircut is coming out properly. It ties into the customer service part of the job. The girl cutting my hair told me the initial paper you sign before your cut basically states that you can’t get out of paying if you don’t like the cut. Not a problem, but it made me feel like they don’t really care about actual act of cutting your hair they just do it to get the hours and get out.
Went here to get a facial to allow a previous student to gain hands on training and had a bad experience. The instructor paid little to no attention to her student preforming the service. The student had called the instructor over several times to get answers to her questions and the instructor either ignored her or answered very vaguely. She was more engaged with others, who weren’t preforming services, who seemed to be her friends rather than her actual students. Very unprofessional and sad seeing an eager student get neglected in front of her guest. I made several comments and grew frustrated for the student as I was laying there being asked to wait several times.
