My child started this nursery Sept 2020 I had high hopes regarding this nursery, but this was my worst experience.
The first incident I asked for some support regarding fees etc for the business manager to not be helpful in her response.
After that my child (at the time was around 10 months old had an injury visibly and his key worker was unable to explain what had happened. when reported to the manager she was defensive and totally backed the staff member. Yet there was no documentation regarding the accident as though it did not happen? From my knowledge accidents are suppose to be documented regardless if witnessed or not- poor practice.
After reporting all of a sudden my child has accidents with head injury back to back 3 times in the week again poor excuses why this happened and very defensive.
Then from the time my child was at the setting there was 7 episodes of redness then when I questioned the number of changes, to discover they were only changing twice a day. Baring in mind I would drop my child at 8:30 and collect at 4:30/5pm and had to escalate for staff to increase the changes. When I made a complaint I deemed it as gross negligence and there was no reason why my child could not be changed more regularly as nappies and cream was provided.
Then I had an issue with them in Jan 2021 regarding inappropriate dressing. The weather was snowing and would have my child without a hat outside in the garden. Number of times I collected my child who would be playing in the garden with no hat and would defend themselves saying ” Your child is running and sweating” How can my child be running when they had just learnt to walk? Then I had occasions due to covid they would bring my child outside no hat, no shoes and coat unzipped and I would have to dress my child outside .
I then had to question the head teachers professional conduct, competence and capacity and it is clear she is not well informed within her role. When I verbally told the chair of governors and raised concerns regarding racial discrimination this was then dismissed as unconscious biased. However I disagree. From when a person uses language to describe you as “intimidating” and “aggressive this is not unconscious this now becomes conscious. For asking reasonable questions like “what happened with the accident on…..”” Please reconsider if you are from an ethnic minority.
