If your a involved parent, definitely if your child is special needs. PLEASE don’t traumatize your child by sending them to this school district. The child has no voice and the parent definitely has no voice. I have came across several special needs family that all feels the same way about the director of student services and her employees. Be mindful the director of student services is in the building not the board office. So the good teachers have no voice because director of student services is hovering over them.

The superintendent is no help addressing any barriers including staff concerns. Teachers definitely intervention specialist do not follow the IEP/behavior plan does the very bare minimum to collect data which is not properly calculated or reflect your child being on track. In other words this school district only cares about politics. Money over everything. I have CC board members and email them with no response. If you ask me, if you African-American you really have no voice in this district. But honestly race don’t even matter. Again, it’s money over everything, politics over everything including our children. The director of student services runs the buildings not the principles. Mental health, physical health conditions are not considered in the school district at all. Doctor recommendations do not matter at all. They work against the children at all cost.

There’s no programs for special needs children after school programs. Every program costs money including even an school dance. If your child does not have money for lunch your child will be given two slices of bread and cheese for lunch. My daughter comes home asking me to send money to help her friend very often because she feels bad.

I worked hard to get my children into a neighborhood like North ridgeville, Ohio. I am learning everything that glitter Is Not Gold. Please please spare your special needs children. Don’t make the same mistake I did, unless you have money coming into this district with a good lawyer.

I reached out twice to the district superintendents office regarding an issue involving my child, they apparently can’t be bothered to speak to me or email back. They suspend kids on a whim, be careful
