NPA is a unique experience and was the absolute best choice for me.

I attended NPA from 2007-2011 and it was a place that fostered creativity, supported my individuality, and provided a truly personal and unique experience for self-motivated students to learn and grow.

The definitive part of my experience was the school’s willingness to support me in creating my own opportunity. I wanted there to be a soccer team, they helped me organize and apply. Me and my friends wanted to do swing dancing, they hired local instructors to teach electives. I wanted to study music tech and recording as part of IB music and they made that happen for me even though there had not been previous course support for it. And here I am as a professional music producer!

I will not say that NPA is the best school for everyone, its not. My sister attended and ended up transferring to AHS after a year. But NPA was the best school for me and if you are self-motivated, creative, and thrive on personal instruction and small social settings it could be for you too!

I attended NPA from 8th grade through the end of high school, and I will always have the fondest memories here. I’ve never attended or heard of a school where the teachers put so much thoughtful attention into facilitating a positive experience for students- we were encouraged to participate in community events, given the incredible opportunity of international travel (with financial support if needed), and shown support both personally and academically throughout high school (and middle school). We formed friendships with both our classmates and our teachers, and for this reason had a community network whenever we needed it.
It is not a generic high school experience at NPA, which means it may not be a perfect fit for everyone, but I believe the school fosters a much more tight knit and welcoming community than most “classic” high schools, and for this reason I have no regrets attending NPA.
