We felt lucky to get my son into 6th grade at the beginning with NPA. The teachers are passionate about their work and the education seems good quality. However, when covid hit, they were one of the last schools in Flagstaff to get started on an online program. When they finally did, school days were only until noon. Recently, NPA finally returned to in-person school, although they were yet again one of the last schools to do so. Once my son returned and we were getting back into a regular schedule with the work/school routine, NPA declares days off with two makeup snow days (Thursday/Friday) plus two teacher days (Monday/Tuesday) providing almost an entire week off (or another spring break). Instead of school finishing on June 4 like FUSD is doing, they are having an extended school year until June 11. Why they can’t have school on the “makeup” snow days and teacher days so that summer could begin with everyone else beats me.
This school has enabled children to be home by themselves with nothing to do more than any other school has that I know of. The structure is barely there. What is more, their administration online program that the kids use every day does not block adult sites. I’m looking forward to getting into a better structured option for my son. We will stick with NPA but hope they can be better organized in the future.
My kids have been going to NPA since they were in 6th grade. I had multiple kids go here. They were once known to be one of the best schools in Flagstaff. In the last year they have become very politically driven, they DISCRIMINATE against those who do not believe in what they believe, they actually segregated students to another room. They were once leaders in the community, now they go with the flow, whatever FUSD does they just follow them. Leadership is something the pride on, they have NO LEADERSHIP. In fact they insult the students for showing leadership. Zeller is a horrible, vile, uneducated, low-class person. I can not even call her human. The way she insulted those kids that showed bravery is despicable. For the other board members and faculty members who stand behind her, shame on you. Really, how can you be okay with her calling innocent kids “Worst of Humanity” Is that who you want in charge of your school? It’s sad what NPA has become, Very sad.
i did not have a good experience here, they do not care about seniors and how they feel. i attended school here from 6th grade to 12th grade and the staff has completely disappointed me. i would not recommend attending this school.
