Insincere school doesn’t deserve 1 star.

My daughter started in 3rd grade 2021 and was expelled by the third quarter.
NCAA was informed of her background of heavy trauma and history of behavioral issues, and promised me they have tools to help and support her. They noticed some behavioral concerns early on but didn’t do anything more than write a report to me.

My daughter was supposed to start seeing the guidance counselor, but was never allowed to (on top of weekly therapy outside of school).

Students made fun of her, called her ‘bad because you’re black’, and it seemed like they started to blame her for things she didn’t actually do since the teacher would believe them over her.

Staff still upheld their statement that they cared and were trying to work with her after warning us she was going to be ‘unenrolled’ if she got another behavior report in a 2 week period; all while doing nothing other than documenting things like her yelling in excitement when the eagle eggs the class had been watching for weeks hatched.

During the 2 week ‘warning’ timeframe, NCAA told us about a program like an IEP (Growth plan) that they had not even considered for our daughter. They refused to change the ‘unenrollment’ date so we could find her a new school 3/4 of the way through the year. My husband and I offered multiple plans to keep our daughter enrolled until at least the end of the year, NCAA refused all them, would not provide a curriculum so we could home school, and argued with us and our child advocate.

I understand my daughter is not perfectly well behaved and can be hard to redirect, but NCAA promised they could handle a child with my daughter’s background and needs and did nothing but add to her trauma and Reactive Attachment Disorder by expelling her.

I guess they only wanted more tuition money. NCAA does not uphold the values plastered all over the school walls and website, nor what the church preaches.

Ms. Venturella is hands down the best teacher!!! Not only does she stay after school and help my daughter, but she has helped guide me through the experience of dealing with a child with learning disabilities. Her support means more to my daughter and family than you could ever imagine.

I have never had a “bad” experience with any other teacher, and the principal is very responsive when you have questions and need clarification.

The staff at aftercare are amazing!!!

Don’t even bother trying to enroll your child in this school. We called for 6 weeks. Left numerous messages. Emailed them. They never returned a single phone call. Finally we reach someone 3 days before classes start and they told us it was filled. They could have had the decency to let us know that a long time ago. Very disorganized and unprofessional.
