It might have been a hassle for some, but I liked taking the train into the City from the northern burbs for my classes at the School of Professional Studies. My certificate program, Business Writing and Communication, afforded me the opportunity to engage creatively and intellectually with colleagues and instructors. During that year I made friendships and career connections that have endured well past those 12 months now about 10 years in the rearview mirror.
