I really liked the fact that my daughter was admitted at this school because it was recommended from my friends and it was close to the house. She had to go one month late because we were not in NY and the beginning was a frustration for her with crying, yelling and staying upset because she didn’t want to let go off me.
I had help from the teachers and the director telling me that it is difficult for everyone to adjust but you have to give her time.
Finally she was happy most of the days that went to school and on November 2021 I got the letter that she has to do the flu shot in order to continue to attend school on January 2022.
This is mandatory only for this school, because I know a lot of people that have kids age 3-5 years old that the school told them they needed but not mandatory.
Doing a vaccine that it’s not mandatory for kids in life, but the school wants it because DOE requires it for this specific age, I don’t understand it at all.
I’m not writing this review for the teachers, they both were amazing and my daughter loves them. She keeps asking if she can go to school every morning and I don’t know how to explain to her that I can not put in her body extra shots because the school forgot to tell me since the beginning that it’s mandatory (first time I heard that).
Changing school it’s not easy, especially for her age, so you really deserve this review and I hope that many parents read it before they decide to apply for it.
I am a student of the graduating class of 2017. I have attended notre dame catholic academy for three years now. It was the best decision I made for myself and my parents. They have friendly teachers and not one student is disrespectful. I know people from most of the grades and nobody seems to be getting bullied and or upset about something. The teachers are very open and allow you to speak to them about private things, as well as the students. The graduating class is NOT full of bullies and we are very playful and kind to one another. We all got accepted into multiple schools and were offered many scholarships because of the wonderful education we have received and are still receiving. Our school has many extra curricular activities and school events. Our principal is very warm hearted and helpful to us. There have been accusations of students being bullied and pressured into things they did not want them to do. These are only false rumors and the students are very kind to one another. The eighth grade is very mature and wouldn’t dare to hurt another students feelings.
