I have had my kids at Nur Ul Islam for the past 5 years, now moving on our 6th academic year in this school. It has been a wonderful experience. The teachers, staff, and principal are willing to listen to you and work towards strategies to help your kids development. They are gentle and kind and you get a sense of family in the school. My daughter needed some help in class, they immediately scheduled a meeting with my husband and I (both teacher Sr. Aisha and head of elementary Sr. Judy was present) and we set goals and they were put into action immediately. I was amazed, they truly want all their students to succeed and feel confident. My little one had trouble with speech in lower school. Sr. Maria kindly suggested we do a speech evaluation with a professional, and so we did. She was right, my son needed help and was given help at the perfect time. His speech would not have improved, if Sr. Maria did not step in. I’ve recommended this school many times, and will continue to recommend it! Lower school and Elementary school are amazing. Looking forward to Middle school soon!
overcrowded classrooms. Donations towards the school do not go to the classrooms. Teachers have to beg parents on the microphone for supplies because of the principal. Cameras never working. Teacher charged with assaulting young girls (which the news video is online to view). Music is “haram” here in their eyes, so kids become bored and non expressive in school. Lunch is nasty (I have heard from the kids). Tuition rates dropped after the recent mess with the assault of the teacher who then fled to Guyana. Academically the class suffers because of the amount of kids per 1 teacher. Never a full time assistant (always one parent having to hop classes to help….assistant is not a qualified teacher). Aftercare constantly cancelled the day of, which hurts working parents. Some parents leave overseas with their kids a month before school ends, and school still passes them all. Absences do not matter to them as long as you pay $$$$. GO ELSEWHERE!
This is the worst of all the Schools I have ever seen. Children can’t learn anything here. They are running the School somehow. They have very few good teachers. Their management system is very poor and discriminatory. Arab dominated teachers and stuffs don’t like the non Arabian students and parents. They always prioritize the Arabs and place the non Arabian students on the back seat in the class and in any other activities. The principal is rude and disrespectful. He doesn’t even want to listen to our complaints. I moved my children to a different School, and they are doing much better in there. Their racial/discriminatory actions need to be investigated by the proper authority.
