My son is currently enrolled in the inaugural Kindergarten class at Oak Grove Preschool and Kindergarten. We are so pleased with the program, his wonderful kindergarten teachers, classroom, and director and feel so blessed that this was available for us to sign up to after his graduation from Oak Grove Preschool. We did not want to give this school up! It is 5 days a week from 9-1 so he is able to benefit from the extra hour that the public school classrooms do not have.

The class size is only 12-14, which is about half of what public kindergarten classrooms are currently at, with one main teacher and an assistant. He is receiving one on one time with his teacher several times during the week. I am so pleased with the attention he is receiving during that one on one time and he is also able to work in 4-5 child groups as well. I know that this would not be the case if he were in public school.

The classroom is focused, loving, challenging, and is teaching my son how to make good choices on his own, do things independently, treat others with respect, and to have fun!! Every day all the children are having recess and lunch together and fostering the feel of a little family. He is excited to go to school and I know he is receiving a top notch education that doesn’t exclude the love and knowledge of God (reading groups, computer time, music class, chapel, math, science, social studies, writing, etc). He is reading at a 1st/2nd grade level and his teachers are finding ways to challenge him and improve his skills and I feel like he is being catered to at the level he needs.

I am always receiving pictures from the classroom on things the children are doing, papers and notes keeping parents informed, and I love that the parents are welcomed to come volunteer in and out of the classroom. Being involved and kept in the loop is something I feel is a necessity to a child’s education and Oak Grove Kindergarten is amazing with this!

If you are looking for a private kindergarten for your son or daughter, I recommend Oak Grove Kindergarten. It is the best choice I have made for my family and love seeing him and his love for learning grow each day.

Very disappointed in this school and the new school director Mandy. Unfortunately we were enrolled there and were able to attend only two full days. Our child has a speech delay and we have found out that he used his actions a few times while frustrated instead of communicating. His first week of school the teacher seemed very experienced as she said it’s all new and he will learn. The director asked if we could meet to come up with a plan moving forward. Well there was no plan. It was just to remove him from the class/school and it didn’t matter what we had to say. There was no warning or trying to work on this. We have been planning on this since February and now will have to wait until next year since preschool has started. She just kept saying that he couldn’t be redirected. Mind you he was there for 6 hours total and wasn’t given a fair chance to adjust to this new setting. In the end I’m very disappointed on how this school had no plan or policy about biting. It’s a TWO year old class. Don’t recommend at all especially if your child has any sort of delay or behavior problem as they are not accommodating.
